Zest, a fresh entrant in the restaurant discovery scene, has just unveiled an exciting new feature that’s changing the game for food lovers. Instead of relying solely on mobile apps, Zest is now offering a personal AI restaurant concierge that you can chat with right in your text messages. Imagine having your very own dining assistant that finds restaurants and makes reservations without you having to navigate through another app!

To get started, you simply text the Zest concierge at (212) 470-6067. It’s as easy as sending a message to a friend. This AI concierge taps into your dining history alongside your friends’ preferences, so it can suggest places that match your taste. No need to spend ages chatting; it gets right to the point using information it already has about your eating habits.

Founded in November 2024 with substantial backing from notable investors, Zest has a unique edge: it connects with your credit card transactions to understand your dining preferences better. By using the financial service Plaid, Zest can analyze your food and drink spending to curate personalized suggestions. Whether you’re in your hometown or exploring a new city, Zest aims to find the perfect dining option for you.

One of the standout features of Zest’s new service is its ability to handle group dining. You can add the concierge to a group chat, and it will consider everyone’s tastes when suggesting a restaurant. This is especially handy for those tricky group decisions. Plus, if there’s indecision, Zest can facilitate a quick vote right in the chat to help the group reach a consensus. Once a decision is made, it can book a table without anyone needing to exit the conversation.

With Zest, you can ask for recommendations based on various criteria, including cuisine type, dietary restrictions, or even the kind of vibe you’re looking for. Want to know how busy a restaurant is or if it has Wi-Fi? Just ask! Zest can also send you the menu, making it easier to decide where to eat.

Finding an open table is not a new concept in the world of apps, but Zest offers a unique convenience. Instead of toggling between different apps to check availability, you can chat with Zest to explore your options. In testing, the AI has performed admirably, providing suggestions that align with your preferences while considering important factors like the time of day and your party size.

Zest’s new AI concierge is more than just a restaurant finder; it’s a glimpse into how we’ll interact with technology in the future. The company is not stopping at dining either. They’re already contemplating expanding their offerings to include recommendations for various services and shops, making it a versatile tool for all your outing needs.

With its innovative approach to restaurant discovery and reservations, Zest is paving the way for a more conversational and integrated dining experience. So, the next time you’re wondering where to eat, just send a text and let Zest do the work for you!
